Hi folks, sorry 'bout the long gap between updates to the site. By way of explanation, here's what I've been up to:
NEW MINICOMICS
For APE '05 this year I made a couple of minis, actually a two-comic set called Computers Are Gay and Ghosts Are Gay, made up of sketchbook selections and unpublished material. 48pp, 4.25 X 5.5", $3.00 each. I'll have a more detailed description in the World of Sublife section soon.
DOODZ AT GIANT ROBOT
I had a gallery show at Giant Robot with Martin Cendreda and Ron Rege Jr in May called Doodz. Thanks to everyone who showed up and bought art, and to the great people at GR for having us there. Also, look for various illustrations I've done in their magazine this year.

221 SYCAMORE ST IN MOME
221 Sycamore St. is the next major comics project I'm gonna be working on for the foreseeable future. It'll be serialized quarterly in Fantagraphics' anthology Mome, and will hopefully, eventually be collected in novel format. It's about 3 very strange people who live in a 2 story house. Look for the first issue out now.

RESFEST
I also did a Where's Waldo style ad for Resfest. It should see print soon; I'll try to let you know when and where.

VARIOUS COMMERCIAL PROJECTS
I've also been busy with miscellaneous commercial jobs not really worth mentioning here.
PRESS/ETC
Interview with Nguoi Viet newspaper. Another interview with the Comics Journal, posted here. Also, included in an article in the LA Times about cartoonists in Los Angeles, don't know if there's an online archive. And finally, the Gay minis are mentioned in the August issue of Instinct magazine.
Welcome to my new, John-friendly, easily updatable news/blog box. Much thanks to Mark Dischler for his help on this. More to come soon, hopefully. Also, my sincere apologies for not keeping up to date with my emails; I've got good reasons. I will catch up soon, I promise.
I'll try to end each one of these entries with something from my sketchbook, so...
